The Banquet Coordinator is responsible for supporting the catering and meeting events. Focus will be on set up and break down of banquet rooms according to BEO’s to ensure rooms are set up according to contract requirements. This will be accomplished single handed for smaller events and with assistance from Holiday Inn Gaithersburg banquet staff for larger events.
Meet with Catering Manager to review all client need status and follow-up items. Ensures the integrity of sales data by documenting information in Delphi on daily basis. Will be required to maintain complete knowledge of all conference center features and services; room types; layouts/floor plans; special packages and promotions; room availability status every day; scheduled daily group activities.
Team member may be called upon to assist with the breakfast bar, front desk and other areas within the hotel.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Four-year college or university degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License/Certification: Serve Safe, TIPS or CARE beverage service certification desired, or the ability to obtain certification required.
Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have one or more years of previous guest service experience. Prior experience or ability to learn Serve Pro, Opera and Holidex required. Exemplary customer service experience; attention to detail; and ability to perform job duties in a repetitious and fast-paced environment are must haves. The ability to speak, write and read English to meet guest’s needs is required.
