  • Overview and Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    The Revenue Analyst is integral to the success of the Hotel's Sales and Revenue Management team. The position will be responsible for the preparation of revenue reports that will assist the Director of Revenue in implementing the Hotel's yield strategies. In addition, the Revenue Analyst will be required to review and analyze reports such as Market Vision, STAR, Hotel Intelligence and other measurement tools and present revenue opportunities for the hotel. This position is also responsible for maximizing the total sales and revenue penetration as well as the RevPar Index improvement.

     

    The Reservations and Revenue Analyst is responsible for assisting the hotel with various sales, revenue initiatives, ensuring financial goals are met and consistent, high level of service is delivered with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of the hotel’s sales and revenue objectives. The Reservations and Revenue Analyst focuses on client and hotel objectives in support of Our Quality Pledge and Standards of Service. The Reservations and Revenue Analyst manages the hotel’s inventory management through reactive and proactive efforts while maintaining accountability for achieving revenue opportunities under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Sales and Director of Revenue Management. This position will be responsible for two properties the Holiday inn in Gaithersburg,MD and the Holiday Inn in Germantown, MD.

     

    The Reservations and Revenue Analyst reports to Director of Sales and Director of Revenue Management and will engage with Operations professionals throughout the hotel.

     

    The Reservations and Revenue Analyst is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties and activities:

     

    1. Accurate preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly revenue reports. The reports include market segmentation analysis, production reports, source contribution analysis, daily pick-up reports, preferred guest program analysis, etc.
    2. Assist with ensuring all rates are loaded and inventory maintenance is correct.
    3. Perform audits and maintenance on all systems such as PMS, CRS, RMS, and Sales & Catering Systems to ensure content and information is correct.
    4. Build and enter all group, airline/contract room blocks, rooming lists and create personalized group websites and web links as needed.
    5. Proactively monitor room pick up, cut-off dates and release rooms that are not reserved in a timely manner while managing all reservations against the room blocks built.
    6. Maintain group pick-up reports and communicate with other departments regarding upcoming groups cut-offs.
    7. Check for duplicated reservations.
    8. Audit Delphi.fdc’s GRC report against Group Pick Up report on a weekly basis.
    9. Ensure special billing and VIP coding is done accurately.
    10. Review and charge no shows from the previous evening.
    11. Ensure all Advanced Purchase deposits and charges are in place.
    12. Communicate strategies and procedures to other departments as required.
    13. Must be knowledgeable of all rates, room types, and hotel product.
    14. Participate in weekly sales and revenue management meetings.
    15. Monitor and analyze the competition daily / weekly through shop reports and the Internet to identify selling strategies and market trends.
    16. Assist in preparing short and long term forecasts.
    17. Provide administrative support for the Revenue Management Team.
    18. Review and analyze reports such as Market Vision, STAR, Hotel Intelligence and other measurement tools and present revenue opportunities.
    19. Analyze local events and activities and project the effect of opportunities they create.
    20. Prepare 7 Day Forecast for distribution to Management team so proper staffing levels are achieved.
    21. Submit daily and monthly actual statistics to STAR.
    22. Conduct Group audit checks bi-monthly to ensure Delphi and the Property Maintenance System are in balance.
    23. Place test calls to Central Reservation Office (CRO) and property to ensure accuracy of rate quoting, restrictions and selling approach.
    24. Update the Daily Market Segment Analysis (DMSA). Ensure accuracy from the daily Flash Report.
    25. Be knowledgeable of all special rates and promotions.
    26. Complete a weekly PACE report.
    27. Collaborate with all other operational departments to communicate group details via the group resume pertaining to arrival/departures, billings, special requests, etc.
    28. Identify improvements to enhance the client experience. Maintain performance level when experiencing changes or challenges.
    29. Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures and consistently maintain a professional and ethical representation within the Sales, Catering and Revenue Management Department.
    30. Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.

    Qualifications

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.

    • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.

    • Demonstrates independent problem solving skills and identify process improvements needed.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
    • Knowledge of all industry reports such as STR, Hotelligence, Market Vision, etc.
    • Ability to work quickly in a high-pressure & high stress environment.
    • Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Exceptional with details and follow up.
    • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
    • Strong work ethic and professional focus; High level of integrity and discretion.
    • Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
    • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
    • Ability to work extended hours based on business needs, with physically demanding responsibilities such as walking, standing, carrying, and lifting throughout the extended shift. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds on occasional basis.
    • Perform other duties as requested by management. 

    Experience:

     

    • At least (2) year experience in sales, revenue or front desk role, (3-5) years preferred in the hotel or event management role.
    • A proven track record of success in a hotel or a related service industry

     

    Education:

     

    • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or related major, preferred.
